Which edition do I need?
The one for the clock on your wall. Each edition downloads as its own zip, calculated for its own time zone.
| Edition | Clock in 2027 | Made for | Paper |
|---|---|---|---|
| US Eastern | EST, then EDT from March 14 to November 7 | New York, Atlanta, Miami | US Letter and A4 |
| US Pacific | PST, then PDT from March 14 to November 7 | Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco | US Letter and A4 |
| UK | GMT, then BST from March 28 to October 31 | London and the rest of the UK | US Letter and A4 |
| India (IST) | IST all year, no daylight saving | All of India | US Letter and A4 |
| Sydney | AEDT, then AEST from April 4 to October 3 | Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra | US Letter and A4 |
Live in US Central or Mountain time? The Pacific edition carries your date on 48 of the 49 Moon phases of 2027, with clock times one or two hours earlier than yours.
Stations and eclipses are printed to the minute in the edition's own clock, so a station late in the evening in the Americas can carry the next day's date in the UK, India or Sydney.
Why does the time zone matter?
A Moon phase happens at one instant for the whole Earth, so the clock time and sometimes the date change with where you live. In 2027, 10 of the 13 New Moons fall on a different date in New York than in Sydney. A calendar printed in Universal Time puts 8 of the year's 49 Moon phases on the wrong day for New York and 14 for Los Angeles. That is why every edition is calculated for its own clock, with daylight saving applied on the right day.
| Edition | First New Moon of 2027 | Time |
|---|---|---|
| US Eastern | January 7 | 3:24 pm EST |
| US Pacific | January 7 | 12:24 pm PST |
| UK | January 7 | 20:24 GMT |
| India (IST) | January 8 | 1:54 am IST |
| Sydney | January 8 | 7:24 am AEDT |
Every retrograde of 2027, US Eastern edition
These are the Mercury to Saturn cycles the guide prints. Each turn is given to the minute with their degree. A row with a 2026 or 2028 date is a cycle that crosses into or out of 2027.
| Planet | Shadow begins | Turns retrograde (US Eastern) | Turns direct (US Eastern) | Shadow ends |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saturn | April 20, 2026 | July 26, 2026, 3:56 pm EDT, 14°45' Aries | December 10, 2026, 6:31 pm EST, 7°56' Aries | March 15 |
| Jupiter | September 17, 2026 | December 12, 2026, 7:57 pm EST, 27°01' Leo | April 12, 10:11 pm EDT, 17°00' Leo | July 11 |
| Mars | November 5, 2026 | January 10, 7:59 am EST, 10°26' Virgo | April 1, 10:08 am EDT, 20°56' Leo | June 7 |
| Mercury | January 25 | February 9, 12:36 pm EST, 5°59' Pisces | March 3, 7:32 am EST, 20°55' Aquarius | March 23 |
| Mercury | May 26 | June 10, 2:15 pm EDT, 6°22' Cancer | July 4, 3:39 pm EDT, 27°28' Gemini | July 19 |
| Mercury | September 17 | October 7, 10:37 am EDT, 4°56' Scorpio | October 28, 10:11 am EDT, 19°19' Libra | November 13 |
| Saturn | May 4 | August 9, 2:06 pm EDT, 27°53' Aries | December 23, 9:47 pm EST, 21°01' Aries | March 27, 2028 |
| Jupiter | October 17 | January 12, 2028, 3:54 am EST, 27°31' Virgo | May 13, 2028, 4:00 pm EDT, 17°32' Virgo | August 11, 2028 |
Is Mercury retrograde in 2027?
Yes, three times. Each Mercury retrograde starts in a water sign and backs into the air sign before it: Pisces into Aquarius, Cancer into Gemini and Scorpio into Libra. Counting the shadows, the three cycles run from January 25 to March 23, May 26 to July 19 and September 17 to November 13.
What is a shadow period?
The weeks before and after a retrograde when the planet crosses the same degrees it covers while retrograde. The pre-shadow starts when the planet first reaches the degree where it will later turn direct. The post-shadow ends when it returns to the degree where it turned retrograde.
The five eclipses of 2027
| Eclipse | US Eastern (greatest eclipse) | UTC | Sign | Where it falls (NASA) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Annular solar eclipse | February 6, 11:00 am EST | February 6, 16:00 | 17°38' Aquarius | South America, Antarctica and west and south Africa; the ring crosses Chile, Argentina and the Atlantic |
| Penumbral lunar eclipse | February 20, 6:13 pm EST | February 20, 23:13 | 1°59' Virgo | the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia |
| Penumbral lunar eclipse | July 18, 12:03 pm EDT | July 18, 16:03 | 25°58' Capricorn | too slight to see; the penumbra grazes the Moon over east Africa, Asia, Australia and the Pacific |
| Total solar eclipse | August 2, 6:07 am EDT | August 2, 10:07 | 9°55' Leo | Africa, Europe, the Middle East and west and south Asia; totality crosses Morocco, Spain, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia |
| Penumbral lunar eclipse | August 17, 3:14 am EDT | August 17, 07:14 | 24°04' Aquarius | the Pacific and the Americas |
All three lunar eclipses of 2027 are penumbral, so the Moon only dims slightly. The July 18 eclipse is too slight to see, with a penumbral magnitude of 0.002. Each edition says whether an eclipse can be seen from its city. The August 2 total eclipse crosses southern Spain, North Africa and Arabia. View a solar eclipse only through certified eclipse glasses.
How does printing at home work?
- Print at 100% or "Actual size", never "Fit to page", so the margins and the writing space stay true.
- Ivory suits a home printer. Night covers the page in ink and suits a screen or a print shop.
- One sheet of US Letter or A4 holds the whole year, so it fits a fridge, a corkboard or the inside of a planner cover.
How it was made
- Every date and time is computed by Natal Junction's own engine.
- Every Moon phase and eclipse is checked against NASA's published tables; sign changes and stations are checked against a second, independent calculation.
- Each edition is converted to its own clock, with daylight saving on the right day, then rounded to the minute.
- Moon discs show the exact shape only on the four phase days; the days between move in even steps.
Questions people ask
Is Mercury retrograde in 2027?
Yes, three times. In US Eastern time: February 9 to March 3, June 10 to July 4 and October 7 to October 28. The guide gives each station's time and degree and both shadow dates.
Is Venus retrograde in 2027?
No. Venus turns direct in November 2026 and next turns retrograde in May 2028. The guide says so, so no row is missing.
How many eclipses are in 2027?
Five: an annular solar eclipse on February 6, penumbral lunar eclipses on February 20, July 18 and August 17 and a total solar eclipse on August 2 (UTC dates).
When is the total solar eclipse in 2027?
On August 2, 2027. Greatest eclipse is at 10:07 UTC, which is 6:07 am EDT in New York and 11:07 BST in London. The path of totality crosses southern Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia.
Which edition do I need?
The one for the clock on your wall. Each of the five editions downloads as its own zip: US Eastern (New York, Atlanta, Miami), US Pacific (Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco), UK, India and Sydney (with Melbourne and Canberra). Live in US Central or Mountain time? The Pacific edition carries your date on 48 of the 49 Moon phases of 2027, with clock times one or two hours earlier than yours.
How do I print it, and does it work on a tablet?
Print at 100% or "Actual size", never "Fit to page", so the margins and the writing space stay true. One sheet of US Letter or A4 holds the whole year. On a tablet, open the PDF in GoodNotes, Notability or any PDF app; the Night design suits a screen.
Is it easy to read, and does it use much ink?
A whole year fits on one sheet, so the station dates and month labels are 7 pt at 100% print scale and the headings and tables are larger. Every font is embedded, so the small type prints sharp. The Ivory design, dark type on a light ground, is the low-ink choice for a home printer.
Does it predict what 2027 holds for me?
No. It is a dated record of the sky, not a prediction. It prints where the Sun, the Moon and the planets are and when they change, with short notes on what astrologers traditionally associate with each event and questions for your own reflection. Nothing in it says what will happen to you or when to act.
How is it different from a free Moon calendar?
Most free calendars print one clock, often Universal Time or US Eastern time. A calendar printed in Universal Time puts 8 of the 49 Moon phases of 2027 on the wrong day for New York and 14 for Los Angeles. Each edition here is calculated for its own clock with daylight saving on the right day, and every phase is checked against NASA's published table. The guide adds every station's degree and both shadow dates for every retrograde, all on one sheet. If you only need the dates, our free full moon calendar 2027 and new moon calendar 2027 list them.
What does it cost, and can I get a refund?
$2.99 in US dollars. Launch price $2.99. The price rises as copies sell, step by step to $3.99. No refunds for a change of mind once a file is downloaded. If you get the wrong time zone edition, or a file will not open or print properly, reply to your receipt and we swap or fix it, with a full refund if we cannot. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes. Choose the edition for the clock where the person lives, not where you live, then print it at home or at a print shop and give the printed pages. It fits inside a card or a planner cover. The files are licensed for personal use, so please give a printed copy rather than sharing the files.
Does it work in the Southern Hemisphere?
The Sydney edition prints every station and eclipse in Sydney time, AEDT and then AEST from April 4 to October 3, 2027. Melbourne and Canberra share Sydney's clock. Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and New Zealand run on other clocks, so a date near midnight can differ from theirs.
